Event Tickets and Hotel Reservations

Guests coming from outside the Chicago area or wanting to stay close to the Breaking Barriers venues may book a stay at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore, less than 10 minutes from Ravinia, at a discounted rate.

Make your hotel reservation by Tuesday, July 2, for any dates between Tuesday, July 23, and Sunday, July 28, to receive the $115 per night (excluding taxes and fees) Ravinia Breaking Barriers guest rate.

See below for details about theA package for the complete Friday and Saturday events of the Breaking Barriers Festival—including the composer/conductor workshop performance and the panel and roundtable with meals provided—is available for purchase. The events surrounding the Friday evening concert are not ticketed individually. The Wednesday event may be attended free of charge by any Breaking Barriers package or ticket buyer.

Events Package Tickets

Leading Science/Making Music Package ($185)

Arrive early Friday night for a networking reception before the Women Leaders in Music and Space panel, followed by dinner. Then enjoy a premium ticket for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performing The Planets, with Marin Alsop also conducting the multimedia Moons Symphony suite by Amanda Lee Falkenberg, who is a featured guest across the weekend.

Parking for the evening in the West Parking Lot is included.

Brunch Saturday includes table talks with guest composers and specialists from NASA, ESA, and space physics labs, as well as an afternoon “Inside the Composers and Conductors’ Studios” in the audience for a workshop of three short orchestral scores by rising composers.

Parking in the West Parking Lot is free for these events.
