"We believe in the power of live music moments to inspire ourselves and the world"

Who We Are

Nestled in a near northern suburb of Chicago, Ravinia is an internationally renowned, independent not-for-profit organizationl that presents an inspiring mix of concerts each summer. Featured events include a six-week residency by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, an extensive chamber music series, popular films shown with their orchestral music played live, and performances by chart-topping hit-makers.

Our Mission

Like you, Ravinia is more than what you see on the surface. Our mission, vision, values, and purpose extend beyond the stage and into the community, the classroom, and professional life. Ravinia’s Reach Teach Play programs serve thousands in Chicago-area communities, opening doors where everyone can access and experience the positive impact of live music. Through these programs, Ravinia reaches more than 20,000 students in Chicago and Lake County public schools that otherwise have little to no music curriculum of their own. The Ravinia Steans Music Institute (RSMI) is home to artistic development programs sought out internationally by young professional classical and jazz musicians. Each summer 65 artists receive fully paid fellowships to engage with globally recognized artists and specialists to learn valuable skills necessary for successful artistic careers.
